Terms and Conditions for Boroondara City Council Online Purchases

1. Terms and Conditions

a. The following terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions") apply to:

the purchase of all items and goods from the Boroondara City Council online shop https://shop.boroondara.vic.gov.au

2. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions

a. The Boroondara City Council may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time. The Boroondara City Council will post the varied Terms and Conditions on its website.

b. By making a purchase from the Boroondara City Council you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions as they stand at the time of your purchase.

3. Purchase of Items

a. All prices for items are stated in Australian Dollars and include GST as applicable.

b. In addition to the value of an item other fees may apply depending on the method of payment and delivery including a credit or debit card surcharge and/or postage and handling.

c. A tax invoice will be issued once the transaction is finalised.

4. Confirmation and Delivery

a. For purchases where delivery is indicated, Boroondara City Council will send purchased items to the address noted by the purchaser.

b. Customers collecting items via Click and Collect option must present the relevant transaction tax invoice and/or photo identification.

c. Boroondara City Council reserve the right to request proof of purchase at the time of Click and Collect and withhold the item if proof cannot be produced.

5. Refunds

a. Refunds will be provided where a payment has been made in error.  This includes accounts that have been overpaid.  

b. If a refund is applicable it shall include the value of the item/s including GST, service fee, credit card surcharge and postage and handling fee if applicable.

c. Refunds will be finalised within 30 days of the request for the refund.

d. Refunds are not available for change of mind.

d. All refunds will be released at the discretion of Boroondara City Council and will be made the Manager Arts and Culture.  

6. Boroondara City Council Accounts and Privacy

a. To purchase an item from the Boroondara City Council online shop, purchasers are required to provide information including their full name, address, contact number and credit card details.

b. Council is committed to protecting the privacy of its customers.  Under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, Council has obligations in relation to how personal information provided is collected, stored and used. 

c. Council’s Privacy and Data Protection Policy 2018 outlines how personal information is managed to meet these obligations.

d. Customers providing their contact details will only be contacted by Boroondara City Council staff where necessary to discuss their purchase.

e. Customers can choose to opt-in to receive future information on events presented by the Boroondara City Council during the purchasing process.

f. Further information about Customer Privacy, including all relevant Acts and Policy noted, is available on Council’s website.

7. Disputes and Complaints

a. The purchaser has the right to lodge a complaint regarding the purchase process, refunds or any other matter to the Manager Arts and Culture.
